GEMS Charity would like to thank Paul Ward of Kibworth Carpets. He and his family gave a kind donation of £719.01 in memory of Claire Ward. The online donations for which have yet to be received. This is a great amount, which goes to show how much loved Claire was. 

The Burton Overy Crafters started meeting in the Village Hall in September 2021. The idea was for like minded people to get together to enjoy crafts and friendship.

We had our Rotary Charity Golf Day on Friday 10 June at Kibworth Golf Club.

Edmonds & Slatter Opticians has a longstanding tradition of offering charitable support to local causes. This week they were very pleased to announce that their new partnership would be with Menphys.

Our recently extended opening hours have allowed us to welcome more people through our doors.  Monday, we open 10 until 1, and Tuesday to Friday, we’re open from 10 until 4. Come and browse the items in our keenly priced pre-loved clothes shop. Stocking women’s, men’s and kids’ clothes as well as shoes and accessories.  The stock is always being replenished as we sort through the generous donations we receive. So be sure to pop along soon.

Derek and I would like to thank everybody who contributed to make our Easter Egg Appeal so successful. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of people within the Kibworth community. In particular the children who attend Kibworth Mead Academy, numerous local business owners, and our very kind customers from The Railway Arms and O Hair hairdressers.

Firstly, I wanted to make a small correction to your editorial comment in the April issue of the Kibworth & District Chronicle, and also provide an update about the Ukrainian refugees.

Some Chronicle readers may remember a series of 10 articles on ‘The Challenge of Dementia’ that I submitted in 2018/19.

In November 2021 Kibworth Books launched a fundraising campaign to send new books to children on the wards at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. Kirsty, Children's Book Specialist, launched the campaign following some time in hospital with her children. The bookshop set out with the goal of raising enough money to buy a book for each child in the 130 beds on the wards on Christmas Day.
