Roy Bills

On 26 June, a special service was held at Kibworth Methodist Church to celebrate Roy Bills’ 70 years’ service as a Methodist Local Preacher. Although Roy, aged 93, recently stepped down from leading services, he is still an active and much-loved member of Kibworth Church.

As a 17-year-old, in 1946, Roy was encouraged to try out preaching and he has never looked back since then. He preached in the Methodist Chapels in Tur Langton and Kibworth, elsewhere in the local Methodist Circuit District, and also as a Prison Visitor at HMP Gartree.

During the Service, Roy was presented with a special certificate issued by the Methodist Conference.
