Ever since we made the decision to rename Kibworth Grammar School Hall as The Kibworth Community Hub, there has been an understandable regret from some people in the village. The argument for doing so has been laid out by myself in Kibworth & District Chronicle before, but I think that it is worth doing so again. Ever since the Hall re-opened as a community centre, there has been confusion between us and the High School/Kibworth Mead Academy; ‘People phone one building wanting the other’, or ‘phone us to tell us that their child can’t come to school today’ are examples. Also, it is important that those people new to the village and, there are a great many of them, know that the building is not a school, but a building that is vibrant, busy and has real relevance to them.

Kibworth Primary School recently hosted an inspirational careers day for all KS1 and KS2 pupils. The day was organised by Mrs Matthew and the MYPATH team. MYPATH are a local business that delivers careers education in a unique and exciting way! The event was a huge success. It provided children with a fabulous day filled with engaging activities and opportunities to learn about the world of work.

Throughout the summer months until the Kibworth and District Chronicle re-appears, Kibworth Methodist Church continues to hold its regular weekly service at 10.30am each Sunday. If you are looking for a new church, or are just visiting the area, why not try us out? You will be made most welcome. But if you find that we are not quite right for you, we will be happy to discuss alternative places of worship in the area.

Kibworth & District u3a’s new group, entitled Pot Luck, made its first excursion to the Kibworth Harcourt Post Mill.

It's been a while since our last article. We have exciting news to share with you all. Kibworth Ladies Choir are busy rehearsing for our annual concert - KLC does Rock!

The follow up meeting of the relaunch of Kibworth History Society is to take place in Kibworth Community Library on Tuesday 24 June at 7pm. 

Our ancient turret clock has recently been returned to the church and is now on display in the north aisle. It dates from 1629 and is a rare example of an oak framed mechanism with the workings made by a blacksmith. It ceased to work as the turret clock in about 1890.
