The 2024 summer outdoor bowling season has absolutely flown by!

Hello, I’m David Walker-Smith, Trustee at the Kibworth Community Hub. Many of you will know Pat Porteous from Kibworth Art Lovers. Pat recently showed me programmes from the incredible Festivals that Kibworth used to hold, the Festival of Angels and a wonderful concert of Jesus Christ Superstar in St.Wilfrid’s church.

After a refreshing break of the summer holidays, LMT is now in the throes of starting rehearsals for our 2025 Pantomime. Not that things have stopped happening during the last few months, of course, as planning, script rewrites, costumes, scenery, casting, etc. etc. are quietly going on unnoticed by many but carried out diligently by the few!

National Heritage Weekend

Gateley RJA contacted Kibworth Allotment Society (KAS) earlier this year to see if there was a project they could help us with, to align with their ethos of supporting their local community.

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital will be holding a fundraising meal on Thursday 17 October at The Shires Inn Peatling Parva LE17 5PU 

Our annual Charity Golf Day this year is on Friday 16 August at Glen Gorse Golf  Club, Oadby. Teams of 4, £200 per team.

An eight week course on how to meditate began recently on Wednesday 5 June in Kibworth Village Hall. The weekly sessions are on until 24 July. Each session costs £7 and are drop-in sessions. Wednesdays 1pm-2pm. Everyone is welcome. Tel 0116 262 0317.

There will be a lot of opportunities for children, aged from thr and over, to join in the fun tennis sessions at Kibworth Tennis Club during the Summer Holidays, from Monday 22 July to Friday 23 August.

On Saturday 29 June, 7pm onwards in the Kibworth Scout Hut there will be a pop-up pub and quiz. The quiz starts at 7.30pm and is £5 to enter. 

Kibworth Cricket Club has been confirmed as the host venue for the 50-over clash with Surrey on Tuesday 6 August.

The Blue Pepper Tribute Party Band with music of the 50’s and 60’s, fronted by the locally known and loved John Hooley, is coming to Kibworth Village Hall on Saturday 6 July, 7.00 for 7.30 pm.

We were so delighted to welcome so many people to, not only our first ‘CoCo’ morning but also our ‘Wilder Westerby’ event, that once again we are inviting everyone to join us for Coffee and Conversation (and of course cake!) at Smeeton Village Hall on Wednesday 17 July, 10.30am - 12 noon, when we will also have more information about our wildlife project. Hopefully, this time the sun will be shining and we will be able to sit in our hall’s gorgeous little garden.

Running on its usual 'last Sunday in June' date, 30 June. Blaston Show kicks off with a Pre-Show Party on the Friday night, to which anyone can come. The cost is just £5 for adults. Children 12 and under get in for free – as do members and sponsors. There will be food, music, a licensed bar and great company.
