Kibworth and District U3A will hold its annual Christmas party but, wait for, on Zoom.

I would like to say a big thank you to the management team at Kibworth Golf Club for opening the grounds for the general public to enjoy during these difficult time. It’s been wonderful to appreciate the open space, lovely colours of the trees, sound of the water fountains and to be able to wander with friends, stopping to sup a flask of coffee and have a chat on a bench. The lovely grounds are an asset to Kibworth and a testament to the skills of their grounds team.

The good news is that we started all of the tennis activities again at the club from Wednesday December 2nd. The courts have been very busy with children and adults glad to be back doing an outdoor activity despite some of the rubbish weather.

The 100^th edition of the ‘Foxton Folio’, the local village newsletter, was published this autumn. It was the idea of Julia Bedford and was formed from the amalgamation of the Residents Association and the Foxton Heritage Group. It was nearly 25 years ago, in spring 1996, that the first Folio came through the Foxton villagers’ letterboxes.

Foxton Choir is really pleased to announce that we will be singing Christmas carols in the village this year but not quite as usual. Rather than the Choir coming to your front door, this time we hope that we can tempt you to leave your snug front rooms, wrap up warm and join us to sing some of your favourite carols, as well as some other lovely festive songs that you may not be quite so familiar with.

Harborough District Council agreed, on 7 December, to allocate funding of more than £20,000 to a number of worthwhile projects across the Harborough district aiming to boost community wellbeing.

Kibworth Golf Course Head green-keeper Martin Anderson is not only a Champion Green-keeper but he is the County Matchplay Champion too! 

 Before Lockdown

We were looking into the possibility of having socially distanced band rehearsals. Unfortunately the current lockdown restrictions effectively put paid to these plans.
