Kibworth Harcourt Post Mill

Kibworth Mill will once again be opening for National Mills Weekend giving members of the public an opportunity to visit the oldest mill in Leicestershire on Saturday 9 May and Sunday 10 May. Volunteers will show people around inside and outside the mill, giving visitors the chance to see the inner workings and marks left by the millers over the last 400 years.

The Kilby Woodland Trust

The Kilby Woodland Trust, established in 2009, manages 15 acres of woodland. They raise funds by selling tree plots for new trees or adopting existing trees. They also host fundraising events and rent out garden areas. From February, two-thirds of the vacant plots are available for £32 annually.

André Aranha Corrêa do Lago, Brazilian leader of COP30 UN climate summit last November in the Amazonian city of Belém said “As the age of warnings gives way to the age of consequences, humanity confronts a profound truth: climate adaptation is no longer a choice that follows mitigation; it is the first half of our survival.”

This year, Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust celebrates seven decades of Nature Recovery across Leicestershire and Rutland, five decades of Rutland Water Nature Reserve, and three decades of Ospreys reintroduced to Rutland. This milestone triple anniversary provides a moment to reflect upon the conservation progress made so far. But also the work still to be done, to ensure the wildlife of our two counties flourishes and remains. Special anniversary events are taking place throughout 2026 and we invite everyone to join the celebrations.
