What’s On at St Wilfrid’s Church
Happy New Year! We hope you had a joyous Christmas and restful break. There’s lots to look forward to in 2024. Here are some dates for your diaries.
Volunteers Morning 20 January 10.30am-noon
Come along and find out how you can get involved! Whether you already come to services at St Wilfrid’s, or are interested to see what goes on ‘behind the scenes’, everyone is welcome to join us for a ‘2024 Reset’.
9.30 Express‘ is turning 10!
On 4 February, St Wilfrid’s fun family service is going to be turning ten! ‘9.30 Express’ takes place on the 1st Sunday of each month. Aimed at children up to about age ten with parents/grandparents, and anyone who is young at heart!
It’s a 30 minute service including songs, puppets, Bible story, prayer, graphics, fun, laughter and love. And it really doesn’t matter if your children dance in the aisle or a baby cries, absolutely everyone is welcome! Not forgetting bacon or sausage baps and croissants in the hall afterwards, as well as playtime and craft.
4pm Traditional Communion Services at St Wilfrid’s
The next services will take place on Sunday 21 January and Sunday 18 February. Services with traditional hymns, organ and choir.
Ash Wednesday Communion service
St Wilfrid’s Church on Wednesday 14 February at 7.30pm. A traditional service with the organ and choir, marking the beginning of the season of Lent.
What is a Life Group? It’s all about doing life together, but it is also meant to be spiritually life-giving.
What’s the purpose? To meet together, study Scripture, pray and have fellowship. There can be friendship, mutual support and encouragement to grow in God. We seek to create a safe environment to experience, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
We hope to create a new ‘Lent Life Group’. If you would like to find out more, please contact the Church Office.
Our simple soup & roll lunches will be taking place again in the hall during the season of Lent. No need to book, just check the website for dates.
Spring Fayre at St Wilfrid’s Church Hall Sunday 24 March, 2-4pm
Following the success of our Christmas Fayre, we are delighted to be holding a Spring Fayre. Please save the date and watch this space for more details!
