OOPS!

At least one person spotted the error in the hymn quoted in last month’s column. It is, of course, ‘Faithful One, so unchanging” not ‘Faithless One.’ Did you spot the error?

Lights of Remembrance

Do you miss someone over the Christmas period? Possibly someone who died in the recent or distant past whom you would have spent Christmas with? On Tuesday 19 December, our Church will be open from 10.00am to 12 noon to enable you to come, light a candle, and sit remembering them for a short while. You are welcome to come and go without speaking to anyone, but someone will be available if you wish to talk.

Christmas Eve – Café Church

At 10.30am, we will be having a different type of service. We will be sitting around tables with carols, readings and Christmas music, but also with refreshments. Come and join us for a less formal type of service.

Christmas Day – ‘What a Surprise’

The children were awake at 5.00am. The turkey is in the oven. The relatives and visitors have arrived. How do you spend the rest of the morning on this special day? Why not bring everyone along to our short service at 10.30am. It lasts no longer than 30-40 minutes, is suitable for both young children and elderly adults, and contains everything except a long sermon. It’s not a genuine Christmas without Church!

New Year’s Eve

We know that many people will be away at this time. Others will be at home, bored stiff, and full to overflowing with mince pies, Christmas pudding and sausage rolls. Why not have a drive into Market Harborough to take part in a special Joint Family Service at our Church there, LE16 9HE. It starts at 10.15am.

7 January – Happy New Year

We start the New Year at 10.30am with a service where we re-dedicate ourselves to the service of God. We call it our Covenant Service and many consider it the most important service of the year. Come along if you can.

At 5.00pm, we also hold our informal worship service in which we ask the question, “Epiphany – what does it mean (for us)?”
