Methodist Matters March 23

New Preachers

We continue to welcome a wide range of preachers to our pulpit, in addition to the regulars, following the enlargement of our Methodist Circuit of Churches. This month, first time preachers to Kibworth will be Dorn Margetts from Rugby (Sunday 19 March) and Kate Horrix from Broughton (Sunday 9 April).

Palm Sunday (2 April)

Both children and adults are welcome to join us for our 10.30am service which is suitable for All Ages. During the service we will be distributing Palm Crosses for everybody to take away and retain in their homes.

Good Friday (7 April)

At 7pm, we hold our annual ‘Service of Light and Darkness’. As the service progresses and readings are read, candles are gradually extinguished until the Church is in darkness. This is a very moving service, as we recall Jesus’ life being extinguished on that first Good Friday.

Easter Sunday (9 April)

Our 10.30am service commences with a large austere Cross displayed at the front of the church. You are invited to bring with you one or more flowers from your garden or the shops and, at an appropriate time, we will all come forward to totally cover the Cross, bringing it to life and symbolising Jesus rising from the dead. The flowered cross will then be displayed outside the church after the service. Sunday after Easter (16 April)

Our Easter Services conclude with a Communion led by our minister, Rev Andy Murphy, with activities and worship suitable for both adults and children.
