Blaston Show

After a two year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Blaston Show is back, bigger and better than ever. As usual it will run on the last Sunday of June, this year 26 June.

New Showground

Changes are afoot inasmuch as it has moved to a new showground, a mile or so from the previous site but still just outside the village of Slawston, between Market Harborough and Uppingham. There will be extra space and scope to accommodate more of everything visitors have loved about the Show over the last 60 plus years.

Family day out

As ever, this fabulous family day out will be jam-packed with things to see and do for all ages. Exhibitors and spectators come from across the region, with something to appeal to all family members. Vintage cars and tractors, cutting edge farming technology, cattle and sheep classes, children’s entertainment and diverse shopping outlets all feature – not to mention a wide range of food and drink outlets.

Equestrian events

There is always an extensive number of equestrian classes including show jumping, in-hand, lead rein, ex-racehorse, best turned out and fancy dress – not forgetting the gymkhana games, with classes for all ages of both riders and horses.

Dog Show

In excess of 100 dogs take part in the ever popular Dog Show, both Kennel Club and Heinz 57 breeds, so that working dogs and family pets can put their best paw forward. Terrier racing and tug-of-war competitions are serious crowd pleasers, whilst adding to the mix will be sheep shearing contests, The Rockets Children’s Motorbike Display Team, and a laser clay shoot.

This year the show has also incorporated The Blaston Hound Show. The Hound Show will still have its own ring but will be right at the heart of the main Blaston Show.
