A goodbye and a hello!

Our last two meetings using Zoom were on 7 January and 4 February.

We were sorry to receive the resignation of Ted Masters, whose long experience of local government will be missed.  However, we are pleased to co-opt Rupert Matthews. He is a local historian and author, to fill one of the two vacancies.

The council agreed to fund an upgrade to the parish council website with the current providers 2Commune.  This will involve extra training for the clerk, a review of documents to ensure they meet the new accessibility regulations. It will also men the use of some more photographs from around the parish.

Planning matters.

Planning – 19/02005/FUL – Erection of 10 commercial/industrial buildings on land to South and West of Priory Business Park, Wistow Road, Kibworth Harcourt. This received planning approval in January and included conditions to extend the 30mph limit further along Wistow Road. There will also be the installation of a pavement from the small roundabout.

2021-2022 Budget.

The Council reviewed the budget and approved an increase in the precept to £46,350 (£53.44 for band D property). This will cover the additional shared costs of the new joint parish council staff and van.

The draft of the revised Neighbourhood Plan is being prepared prior to approval by the two parish councils before public consultation.

The clerk has been in contact with HSBC bank to close the former Joint Burial Committee account and move the money into the parish council account; this is ongoing.  The clerk did confirm that the majority of the Kibworth Meadows estate is being adopted by LCC Highways. There are still some areas – Longbreach and Bush Roads – that remain unadopted for now.
