The Kibworth School May News

Welcome to the latest Kibworth School Update. Here’s what’s been happening recently…..

TKS Radio is on air!

Year 8 student Jacob Stone, age 13, supported by Head of English Mrs Boxall, has launched a radio station in his bedroom to keep his friends at The Kibworth School and their parents up-to-date and entertained while school is closed.

TKS Radio features contributions from students and teachers and is released as a weekly podcast every Wednesday evening on the school website – check out all the broadcasts so far!

What’s been happening on the school site during lockdown?

Many of you will pass the school gates on Smeeton Road whilst out on your walks or bike rides during these lovely sunny days, so you may have noticed some of the new additions.

These include a bike park (closest to the road near the main gate) and the completion of our wellbeing garden, also close to the road opposite the Health Centre, which now has a great polytunnel.

We’re currently growing a range of fruit, vegetables and herbs very kindly donated by the Homebase Market Harborough store and hope to be able to share the harvest later in the summer with our families and the wider village.

Thanks too to the children of key workers who are in school helping to look after the garden.

Join our school lottery… it could be you!

This is a national scheme that is so easy to play and helps schools and other educational settings raise vital funds. It takes just two minutes to get started and 40p from every pound spent is donated right back to school. To get started and be in with a chance to win a local school prize and a national jackpot each week, simply visit the Your School Lottery website

Thank you and good luck!

And finally…

A little video message from our staff – we can’t wait to see everyone again soon!
