National Garden Scheme Open Gardens in Leicestershire 2026

National Garden Scheme Open Gardens are returning across Leicestershire this summer, offering visitors the opportunity to explore a variety of beautiful private gardens while supporting charitable causes.
Gardens Open Throughout June and July
Opening every Wednesday throughout June and July, from 2pm to 4.30pm, is the beautiful four-acre country house garden at Stoke Albany House, Market Harborough LE16 8PT.
Features include a walled grey garden, a nepeta walk arched with roses, a parterre with box and roses, and a Mediterranean garden.
June Open Gardens
10 High Street, Somerby, LE14 2PZ opens on 21 June from 11am to 4pm. This garden was the result of a ten-year project to transform a medium-sized plot, previously used mainly as a car park, into a flourishing garden featuring terraced herbaceous borders, a gravel garden, courtyard, terrace, kitchen garden, greenhouse, small orchard, pond with bog garden and a sunken patio overlooking the horse pond.
The Secret Garden at Glenfield Hospital, LE3 9QP opens on 27 and 28 June from 10.30am to 3pm. Set within the grounds of Glenfield Hospital, this one-acre Victorian walled garden has been lovingly designed and restored.
July Open Gardens
Green Wicket Farm, Bitteswell, LE17 4LR opens on 12 and 15 July from 2pm to 5pm. Visitors can enjoy an informal garden featuring mature trees, unusual plants and colour-themed borders surrounded by open fields.
St Wolstan’s House, Wigston LE18 3RA opens on 18 and 19 July from 11am to 5pm. The garden covers approximately half an acre and includes formal and informal planting schemes, a white garden, rose garden, sunken Italian garden and water features.
August Open Garden
8 Saintbury Road, LE13 8EL opens on 8 and 9 August from 11am to 4pm. This attractive town garden features colourful border displays and 20 different varieties of dahlia, which will be in full bloom and are expected to be the stars of the show.

Thanks to volunteers and visitors, Leicestershire opened 37 gardens during 2025 and welcomed 9,289 visitors, resulting in net donation income of £69,094.
