Our New Event, Not To Be Missed

As promised, more details on our event in June to celebrate the King’s birthday and Fathers’ Day. The Kings Head, Smeeton are hosting a Summer Shindig in aid of GEMS Charity on Sunday 21 June starting at 1pm. It is shaping up to be a fantastic event with a BBQ, Music, Tombola, Plant Sale, Raffle and more.
You won’t want to miss out on listening to the brilliant lineup of music. C to the G, a four-piece vocal harmony band, with a twist of jazz and bags of sass will be playing from 1.30pm. At 4pm we have, Whatever it Takes. A four-piece band playing a mix of songs from the 60’s to the present day; which will all make for a brilliant afternoon of music and dancing.
So come along, treat your dad or yourself on Fathers’ Day to some fun, food, and fantastic entertainment, along with fabulous beers and wines.
A plea for help please…
If anyone has any unwanted gifts that could be used as a tombola prize or plants for the plant sale, we would be very grateful to take them off your hands. Please drop them off at The Kings Head by Saturday 13th June. We would love to hear if you are free and would like to volunteer for a couple of hours. Please email us at gemscharity@gmail.com or contact Sally on 07801 855 860.
Bingo at The Kings Head will be on Saturday 30 May. It’s an 8pm start, £10 per person for six rounds of bingo and other games. There’s chicken wings and a dip with your entry. It gets very busy, so booking is required. Please call Edd and Andrew at The Kings head – 0116 279 2676 to book.
The organisation for our annual GEMS Golf Day is underway. This will be held at Market Harborough Golf Club on Friday 7 August. It’s £55 per player, teams of four, so have a chat with any keen golfers you know. If you fancy joining us without a team, we will include you into a team.
This year we are giving local businesses the opportunity to the event. Or if you would like to donate towards the cost of the event, that would be most welcome. For all information on our golf day and to book yourself in please email lyn.gemscharity@gmail.com or contact Fred on 0776 3116049
Please have a look at our website to find out more and where all the help and donations have been spent. www.gemscharity.com and we look forward to seeing you at one or more of the events.
