I came across your publication on the internet as I have researched who I believe was my 8th great grandfather, Colonel Thomas Horton, also known as Thomas Horton the Regicide (1603-1649).
I will be travelling to the UK in June and will be visiting Naseby for an afternoon tour of the battlefield on June 14th.
I plan to stop in Gumley that morning as well as my research indicates the Horton family likely had roots in the village.
lf there is someone who may have further information on the Horton family in Gumley including specific knowledge on the location of landholdings once owned by the family I would very much appreciate contact.
