The monthly parish council meeting was held on 1 April at 7pm in the Studio at the Kibworth Community Hub.

Chairman –Cllr Feltham informed members he would be attending the drop-in event at Great Glen Village Hall on 2 April regarding the 6 January flooding in the village.

LCC – Three proposals for unitary reorganisation were submitted to the government.  (1) Leicester City Council wishes to expand their city boundary to include adjoining suburbs and villages including Great Glen and Countesthorpe.  (2) The County Council submitted a proposal for one unitary to cover the whole county, with the City remaining as it is.  (3) The seven district councils wish to create two new unitaries – north and south, leaving the City as it is.

The rural area east of the A6 is being served by a FoxConnect On-demand Transport Service which currently does not link into the Kibworths.

Joint Recreation Board. Canvas has done some remedial work on the skatepark. A bin in Rookery Park is to be moved next to a bench.

Joint Burial Board.  New dual bins for dead flowers are to be bought to replace the large wire bins.  The s106 application for improving the natural burial area has been submitted.

Village Hall.  The film on 31 May will be “A Complete Unknown”- the early musical life of Bob Dylan.

Kibworth Allotment Society. The s106 application to improve fencing has been submitted. HDC requested a copy of the lease between Merton College and the parish.

Grammar School Hall/Community Hub –The KGSH Trustees AGM was on 26 March.  Hire charges are being increased for party bookings.  New signage has been funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Planning. A resident explained their plans for a self-build project which would be applied for in due course.

Wistow Road roundabout. The Council agreed for Spendlove to rotavate and re-seed the roundabout as previous wildflower attempts had not worked.

£1m Community Grant Fund.  Representatives from both parish councils attended the HDC Grants Panel meeting on 18 March when the application for replacement fencing for Polwell Park was approved.

Finances & Administration –Several updated policies were approved. All financial statements, reconciliations, summaries, and payments were approved.

Clerk’s report. A recent meeting with HDC grants officers was useful. Another with Katie Fox, the s106 officer, is due on 7 April. All councils should have a gov.uk email address, so the clerk will obtain quotations.

The next two public meetings are on 6 May (also the Annual Parish meeting) and 3 June in the Studio, Kibworth Community Hub, 7pm.
