This month, we’re kicking off a new column called ‘Meet the Proprietor’. In this column, we’ll get to know one of our local shops and learn all about them.

During a recent Wednesday walkabout, my brother and I were fascinated to notice colourful umbrellas in the outdoor seating enclosure of the Coach and Horses - yes Kibworth’s 18^th Century Coaching Inn is back in business.

Once again we are looking forward to welcoming you into the calving and lambing sheds at our annual Open Day, on Saturday 22 March at Binleys Bridge Farm, Debdale Lane, Smeeton Westerby, LE8 0QD. Come down to the farm between 11am – 5pm to see the cows calving and sheep lambing. We will hopefully have a few pigs for you to see too.

Years ago, a white mutation, Terret Blanc, ended up in the obscurity of the lagoon of Thau near the Mediterranean between Montpellier and Béziers and was largely forgotten.
