To an artist, the benefits of sketching are invaluable according to professional artist and teacher, Helen Neave. In the November meeting of Kibworth Art Lovers, she demonstrated & spoke about the way she uses her own sketches when completing an artwork. Not only is sketching useful for training the brain, improving observation skills and hand-eye co-ordination. It also transports the artist back to the atmosphere of the moment. Notes taken whilst sketching remind the artist of subtle details to be included in a finished piece of work.

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital will be holding a Christmas table top sale on Saturday 13 December in Kibworth Village Hall LE8 0LN. From 10am-12.45.

At our October meeting Karen Atherton talked about her career as ‘One of the First Female Airline Pilots’.

Club members have enjoyed a busy and successful season.

At 5pm on Saturday night, 1 November, everything was ready for our annual bonfire and fireworks. The bonfire had been built with wood from the golf course and numerous pallets collected over the previous weeks. Crowd barriers had been put in place. The Guides, from Kibworth & Fleckney, were organised with their glow sticks, hot dogs and drinks for sale. An array of other hot food and wine & beer were available. Kids fairground rides had also been erected. Bright Spark Firework company had been setting up since late morning. The weather was clear, almost not a cloud in the sky, you could see the stars and the moon was rising, perfect, all we needed was a crowd!

There is just over a week to go until we perform our concert- KLC does Rock, on Saturday 22 November! Rehearsals are going really well, and we just can't wait to open the doors to you for our matinee and evening performances.

A comedy at Christmas with the feel-good factor

The KPA held our first meeting of the year recently. We have lots of exciting events planned for the rest of the school year. Our next event will be our Christmas Raffle which consists of wonderful prizes and hampers all generously donated by our community. Details on how to purchase tickets will be shared in early December.

Kibworth& District u3a a créé un nouveau groupe de conversation en français. Afin d'améliorer notre apprentissage, nous recherchons un nouveau membre qui a une bonne connaissance de la langue.

We’d like to start by thanking Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council who have allowed our Scout Group to use the old library building by the village roundabout. Whilst we have loved using the Scouts Land this year, the weather is now making it too much of a challenge to be there every week and the use of the old library building provides our young people with a safe space to meet for weekly meetings.
