Our members have just returned from our annual visit to Potters Resort, Hopton-on-Sea, where the World Indoor Bowls Championships are taking place. As always, we were really impressed by the bowling skills demonstrated and hope we can be as good one day! We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and were able to partake in a wide range of other activities. These included snooker, swimming, quizzes, line dancing and even Morris dancing. The evening entertainment was first class and the food plentiful.

Happy New Year from all of us at Fleckney & Kibworth Running Club. It was a busy end to 2023 for team F&K with various races, and festive runs to report.

There is a lot written about mental wellbeing these days and taking exercise as a means of staying healthy. BBC Radio 4 has many programmes detailing ways to keep healthy and avoid going to see the Doctor. Getting outside and going for a walk with a group of people has to be one of the best ways of achieving this.

Illston-on-the-Hill WI met in December for the last time in 2023. A few members were absent due to party and visiting commitments. However, this did not deter us from our activities.

Rehearsals are well underway for our annual Pantomime - the rats are sharpening their teeth and Tommy the cat, his claws!

After a very successful Christmas Concert the Band took a welcome break before returning to rehearsals in the New Year.

The membership now stands at 48, making us one of the largest clubs in the county. One third of our members being juniors.

Our December activities began on the 11th when our skittles team played against Loddington WI. The match was held at The Rose and Crown in Thurnby. The skittles alley, which was decorated with greenery, Christmas baubles and lights, looked really festive.
