Artist Bob Morley has been a regular demonstrator for the Kibworth Art Lovers over a number of years, and never disappoints. He began our February meeting, attended by more than thirty of our members, with a presentation of his work, illustrating a wide range of subjects, media and techniques. Bob talked us through his use of watercolour, acrylics, ink and pastels. Giving us several tips for creating various effects. Clingfilm, salt, fine sponges and even a toothbrush are all part of his kit.

Our Allotments will be ten years old this year and the bare field we started with is now a thriving site for flowers, vegetables, fruit and wildlife.

The Kibworth Art Lovers have been taking a winter break from meetings. But planning has been continuing to ensure an interesting programme of visits from a range of inspiring professional artists. Hopefully, at the same time, our members have been busy painting, sketching and crafting in preparation for our annual exhibition in early June.

Not much to report this month as the main focus of the Band has been on rehearsals for the Area Contest on 2 March. Contests are the more serious side of Banding with this one being particularly important since it determines the Band’s national grading.
