'Come Together' in Kibworth

Congratulations go the local Canal and River Trust, who manage Foxton Locks. They have recently won a Green Flag award for the fourth year running. This recognises their efforts to keep the site safe and accessible to the highest standards.

Our annual Charity Golf Day this year is on Friday 16 August at Glen Gorse Golf  Club, Oadby. Teams of 4, £200 per team.

In landlocked Leicestershire it seems strange to be writing about the RNLI. This volunteer organisation not only looks after our shoreline it also often oversees some of our inland lakes and water holes. There are 40,000 water holes. Saddington Reservoir is just one.

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital held a table top sale on Saturday 8 June, in Kibworth Village Hall, LE8 0LN, from 10am until 12.45pm. Sales will also be held on Saturday 10 August, Saturday 14 September, Saturday 12 October and Saturday 9 November.

And so, the summer is upon us, meteorologically speaking at least!

We'd like to let the good folk know that we have purchased and installed an Automatic External Defibrillator here at The Well.

The Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust is encouraging people to sign up to take part in Ride+Stride, the annual fundraising event that helps raise money for repairs and improvements to historic churches, chapels and meeting houses throughout Leicester and Leicestershire.

Charity Fundraiser for Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital will be holding a coffee morning and table top sale on Saturday 8 June in Kibworth Village Hall, LE8 0LN, from 10am until 12.45pm.

Following the success of the Leicester Comedy Festival Event in February at the Kibworth Community Hub, the Kibworth & Fleckney Rotary Club was able to donate over £1500 to the Leicester Musical Memory Box (LMMB). 

We reported in the March edition of the Chronicle that we had reached our current target to extend and refurbish the chemotherapy unit at the LRI, thanks to all the support we have locally, and that our fundraising to make the patients more comfortable during their cancer treatment would continue.

It has been a busy time at the Hub just lately. In March, we had our AGM. Martyn, the Chair, reported that conditions remain challenging, mostly due to the costs of utilities and staffing. However, the hall remains well used and we are confident that the future is bright, especially as we continue to develop our relationship with the library.

The Railway, Kibworth, LE8 0LN, will be hosting a Clutter Sale in aid of the Gems Charity on Friday 17 May, 9am until 4pm, and on Saturday 18 May, 10am until 1pm.
