Fleckney Spinners – September 2026 Update
Panic stations for the Spinners committee when we discovered, completely by accident, that our venue arranged by Schools Plus at Kibworth Mead Academy would not be available for nearly six weeks. Frantic phone calls and emails secured us a temporary venue thanks to the generosity of Knighton Park Table Tennis Club. It has been fun using a different venue with better facilities.
In August our league players took part in the famous Elbow Tankard contest. Fleckney 1 started the week with their first win, 13/7 over Desford Dynamos and then had another win 16/4 over Knighton Park Nutters, with James Robertson scoring a maximum. In Group 2, Knighton the Town fielded a very strong team and extended their 100% record with a 12/8 win over Fleckney 2. F2 finished on 6 points, narrowly missing out on the semi-finals. F1 were competitive too and ended up mid-table.
In early September, we had a friendly match with Evington TT Club. Evington’s Richard Clarke, Ayaan Sheikh (13), Muhammed Sheikh (16) and Ubaid Adam (14) narrowly beat (6/4) our Anita Pabla/Reuben Gill (11), Csanad Hajgato (12), and Jaiden (13) and Dylan (14) Curry with Dylan the man of the match with 100% wins. Despite their youth, Reuben, Jaiden, Dylan and Csanad will be trying their luck in the senior league this year. Coaches Andy Wright and Miriam Wohl couldn’t be prouder.
All are welcome to attend but please phone Miriam on 07890 950 087 first.
