Kibworth Band
It has been a somewhat disappointing summer for the band. Gone are the days of council sponsored summer Sunday band concerts in local parks. This included the Melton Mowbray Town Estate sponsored concerts. We hear on the grapevine, however, that due to public demand these normally well supported concerts may be back next year.
It is approaching the Contest Season and we would very much like to enter the LBBA (Leicestershire Brass Band Association) contest at Ashby School, Ashby De La Zouch in November. Unfortunately, we are currently short of some players. Most notably our tenor horn player, Isaac Grant and cornet player Toby Cox, both of whom are off to University. Our best wishes go with them and we look forward to seeing them during their holidays. Efforts are continuing to find replacements, together with some additional cornet players. As Kibworth continues to grow we are ever hopeful that some players may move into the village.
Concert Sunday Saturday 19th September
In the meantime we have a proms themed concert at Kibworth Community Hub (formerly known as The Old Grammer School Hall) on Saturday 19 September at 3pm. This concert is in conjunction with The Well, Kibworth who would happily sell you some tickets.
