Fleckney Spinners Table Tennis
‘And now for something completely different’
Instead of reporting on the results of competitions this month, we on the committee are looking to the future.
Our Annual General Meeting will be on 24 June, and a report will be in the next issue of the Chronicle.
Moving on from June, we normally pause for the whole of July but as we have two new teams to enter the Leicestershire League and two new teams to enter the Junior League, we decided to continue coaching for part of July (1, 22 and 29) and arrange practice matches for our league newbies. At the end of July and beginning of August there will be a contest for the league players in the summer league known as the ‘Elbow Tankard – named after John Ellis and John Bowness, stalwarts of the Leicestershire League.
Lastly, we are planning a Home and Away friendly match to give our juniors more experience of our opponents from different clubs – in this case Church Langton Table Tennis Club.
As usual, we offer social play and coaching for adults and children from ‘9 to 90’ and the first session is free. Beginners start at 7pm and others at 7.45pm. After coaching we play socially from 8.15 – 9.30pm. The sessions currently take place at the Main Hall (not the Sports Hall) of Kibworth Mead Academy, Smeeton Road, Kibworth, LE8 0LG.
