MHBS marks £1 million in community giving
Market Harborough Building Society has committed £1 million to local good causes in the past three years, with funding already delivered and further investment in its Charitable Foundation to support future impact.
This achievement reflects the Society’s Thrive! Agenda, which has evolved from a single act of community support into a clear, long-term commitment shaping its operations and member service.
While the Society has always supported local causes, this milestone marks a shift from traditional giving to a more deliberate approach rooted in the purpose of a mutual organisation.
Three years ago, the Society reflected on its community support and created ‘Thrive!’, a shared agenda to help customers and communities cope with challenges and move forward.
The first step was a £100,000 donation to local Food-banks in January 2023, responding to an immediate need and setting the stage for a wider approach.
