Kibworth Tennis Club update.

We have gone very green!

We have just had the halogen floodlights on the five courts changed to LED floodlights. The new lights cost £45000 and this project was funded by two Harborough District Council grants, the Environmental grant and the s106 grant, and from the tennis club’s savings. A big thank you to Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council and the three Ward Councillors for supporting this project. We would not have been able to apply for the grants if we did not have their support. The LED floodlights are very energy efficient and will reduce the electricity consumption at the club by over 50%. So the club has become very green!

Mini Tennis Team Success

The 8&U and 9&U teams won their divisions in the 2025 County Summer League. The teams were presented with their certificates, for winning their divisions, at the recent Leicestershire Tennis Awards at the Leicester Tigers Ground. The presentation was made by James Keothavong MBE, an international umpire, who has umpired 20 Grand Slam finals. The photo shows members of the 2 teams and the head coach, Mati De Orta, with James.

The club is hoping to build on this success with eight teams entered into the 2026 County Summer Leagues.
