Kibworth Cricket Club – The Season is Nearly Here!

Spring has arrived (at least meteorologically!), and at Kibworth Cricket Club we are firmly in countdown mode to the new cricket season.

First match

Our first match of the year- a friendly fixture against Oundle – takes place on Saturday 11 April, and we’re looking forward to welcoming players and spectators back to the boundary. Wrap up warm and enjoy the early-season action. It may not be the Ashes (probably just as well!), but it’s every bit as enjoyable – and wonderfully family friendly. One point to make, once the season starts all families do need to be aware that cricket balls will be flying about and are extremely hard so please be aware on the boundary edge.

Off the field, the clubhouse continues to be a real hub of activity. Sunday breakfasts are back, alongside quiz nights, skittles evenings and plenty of homemade cake to enjoy with a good cuppa. Zoe, as ever, is run off her feet keeping everything ticking over and planning the next event hire – always with a smile.

As we prepare for the season, we’re holding our annual Ground Force Day on Saturday 21 March, and extra hands are always welcome. Whether you can spare an hour or the morning, your help makes a real difference in getting both grounds ready for play.

If you’d like to join the fun – as a player, social member or volunteer -we would love to hear from you.

We look forward to another great season at Kibworth Cricket Club.
