Fleckney and Kibworth Running Club

Members of the running club were out in force over recent weeks, representing the club across road and trail events – and tackling everything from fast six-mile racing to muddy off-road challenges.

Tracey Coates continued her preparations for the London Marathon, where she is raising funds for The Bodie Hodges Foundation charity. As part of her training block, she completed the Leicestershire Half Marathon in 2:55:23, putting in a strong performance as she builds towards race day.

Tracey was also among those taking on the demanding Belvoir Challenge, a 15-mile event known for its tough, muddy terrain. She finished in 4:57, alongside fellow club members Emily Pierce (4:29) and Jude Hughes (4:36), all battling testing underfoot conditions.

The Leicestershire Road Running League season continued with the ever-popular Kibworth 6. Well supported by the club both on and off the course, it proved to be another successful evening of local racing. Finishing times were: Steve King (41:40), Ben Whatton (46:12), Bethany Walter (47:44), Jo Dickens (53:12), Lucy Earland (55:26), Peter Mather (56:39), Rachel Earland (56:55) and Emily Pierce (60:03). The club would also like to extend thanks to the local community for their support with road closures, helping to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Club members also competed at the Leicester 10K, with strong performances from Steve West (1:02), Gary Lawrence (1:05), Megan Lloyd (1:22) and Ruth Hughes (1:24).

Meanwhile, Emma Boyd took on the challenging Pitsford Trail Half Marathon, finishing in 2:44 in tough conditions.

Well done to all members who raced and represented the club so proudly.
