Kiworth Primary School
Over two fantastic days, our students and parent/carer volunteers joined forces with Harborough Woodland to take part in an inspiring tree planting project that will benefit our community and local environment for years to come.
💚Day 1 – Planning the Future
The first day focused on thoughtful preparation and teamwork. With guidance from Harborough Woodland, pupils and staff helped plan the layout of the planting area, place canes, and carefully mark out the exact spots where each new tree would grow.

This groundwork was essential, ensuring the area was organised, accessible, and ready for a productive planting day to follow. Spirits were high, and everyone was eager to see the transformation begin.
💚Day 2 – Planting Begins
Despite challenging weather conditions, our enthusiastic pupils rose to the occasion. With admirable perseverance (and more than a few muddy boots), they planted the young trees and fitted protective guards around each one.

Their positivity and determination shone through the rain. It was wonderful to see how proud they were of their efforts. Every tree planted represents a hands-on contribution to the natural world around us.
💚Growing Together
These two days highlighted the power of teamwork, resilience, and community partnership. We are incredibly grateful to Harborough Woodland for their support and expertise. Wea are equally proud of our pupils for working so hard to create something lasting. We would really also like to thank our amazing parent/community volunteers. They were such a huge help and their efforts greatly contributed to getting them all planted.
This project is more than just planting trees – it’s about nurturing a greener future for everyone. We can’t wait to watch these young trees grow alongside our students.
