Kibworth Community Library
“Every person can make a difference, and every person should try.” – John F. Kennedy
As it’s a new year we thought it would be nice to tell you about what running Kibworth Community Library means to all of us. We provide a comfortable, safe, warm, and welcoming public space for everyone, so no-one needs to feel cut off from the world. Social interaction is a habit we cannot afford to lose, and our health and wellbeing depend upon it. Our library is somewhere you can come along to by yourself, without an invitation, and feel welcome. You will find our friendly volunteers here to chat with, make you a nice cup of tea, and to help you with so much more than you can imagine!
Yes, we do have great books: on paper, as audio books and as e-books. We have lots of fiction for children, young adults, older adults! We also have reference books on history, cookery, gardening, biography etc. And don’t forget that all of these books are free to borrow.
We love our books, but we are so much more than a lending library. We’re here to help you access the internet (for free!) or identify a plant (yes, we’ve done that). We entertain you with local speakers and international authors. We have a fabulous printer – and you can print an A4 page in black and white for only 15p!
In these increasingly online times, when so many people live and work alone, libraries are ever more important. We provide a space for reading and creativity and, with our many events and groups, we help bring our community together and combat loneliness.
Most importantly we are here for you. So, please carry on supporting us. Come and visit, or volunteer with us. Sign up to our mailing list so you don’t miss a thing by contacting us at info@kibworthcommunitylibrary.org.uk.
