National Safeguarding Week

National Safeguarding Week – National Safeguarding Sunday was held on Sunday 16 November
As part of our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming space for all, we recently held a special Safeguarding Service, reflecting on the importance of protecting the vulnerable in our church/community. Alongside this, our poignant ‘Souls of Our Shoes’ display offered a powerful visual reminder of the impact of abuse, honouring those affected and encouraging us all to stand together in compassion and awareness. The items help us to reflect on actual people and some of the comments they make. It also depicts the diversity of children, adults, circumstances and locations in which abuse occurs. The service and display helped make Sunday a meaningful moment of reflection and hope.

Additionally, the display included some tear drop shapes on coloured card which caught the interest of visitors who by turning them over could read bullet points about various types of abuse some of which are often hidden from common view.
