Kibworth Squirrel Scouts

After a fantastic spring and summer term, spending nearly every week meeting outdoors on our land, our Squirrel Scouts have led our group in an exciting project to create an allotment space, within our outdoor education area.

Keen to have a dedicated space to grow and learn about food production for their ‘let it grow’ badge, the squirrels brought the idea of an allotment space to the table of our trustee board.

This would be a facility which all of our young people could use to learn valuable skills.

Our volunteers have worked hard to help enable the squirrels’ idea come to life. With the support of District ward Cllr King and Kibworth Beauchamp and Harcourt Parish councils, we have been successful in obtaining a grant of £17,000 from the Harborough District Council Community Fund.

The project was also supported by Leicestershire Scouts – £960

Kibworth and District Chronicle – £500

Wickes – £100

We’re proud to be able to support our young people in leading the way and learning valuable skills for life.
