Ye Haa! Line Dancing Class featured on television

Kibworth Bowling Club was filled with the sound of country music and the shuffle of dancing feet this week as ITV Central News filmed a feature on the village’s thriving line dancing class.
The class attracts participants of all ages united by a shared love of dance, music, laughter and good company. Led by instructor Nicky Rockett, the group meets weekly for a session that combines traditional country steps with modern tracks, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
“Line dancing is a great way to keep physically and mentally active while socialising,” said Nicky. “It is something everyone can enjoy.”
ITV Central’s film crew captured the class in full swing, with smiles and laughter all around as dancers stepped, turned and clapped in rhythm. The upcoming segment aims to showcase the growing popularity of line dancing across the Midlands and highlight the role that Nicky’s class at the Bowling Club plays in its resurgence. A participant said the group has become an important part of their week.
ITV Central reporter Lois, who attended the filming, said, “It is great to see how something as simple as line dancing can bring such energy and connection to a local community. The enthusiasm in the room was infectious.”
Nicky’s class meets every Thursday at Kibworth Bowling Club at 9:30 am. For more information contact Nicky on 07799766501.
