National u3a Week Events
HWu3a is hosting National U3A Week from Saturday 20 September to Thursday 25 September with a diverse range of activities. This presents an ideal opportunity to engage in novel pursuits and promote HWu3a within the Market Harborough community.
- Saturday 20 September: ‘Parkrun’ or ‘Parkwalk’ (8:45am) To register for the event, please visit the official Parkrun website: www.parkrun.org.uk/register

- Monday 22 September: The ‘Harborough Welland Get Together’(10.30am) This will take place as usual in the Methodist Church on Northampton Road where our very own Movie Group will present a film about ‘The Millennium Tapestry’ in celebration of its 25th Anniversary.
- Tuesday 23 September: ‘Croquet comes to Harborough)’11am – 3.40pm)
In partnership with Leicester Croquet Club, four one hour sessions will be held at 11am, 12pm, 1.40pm and 2.40pm at the former Grass Tennis Courts,Welland Park. Please note, this event will be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
- Wednesday 24 September: ‘Petanque in the Park Afternoon‘(2pm – 4pm)
The HWu3a Petanque Group would like to invite you along for a free taster session at the new petanque area near the Cafe in Welland Park. All equipment is provided, just wear sensible shoes.
- Thursday 25 September: ‘Walks Day’ (10am, 11am, 2pm)
Please ensure you have appropriate footwear/clothes suitable for the conditions on the day.
All three walks will start from and return to Welland Park Café. Different distances are on offer:7 miles, 4 miles and 3+ miles setting off at staggered times.
