Methodist Matters

Methodist church

Throughout the summer months until the Kibworth and District Chronicle re-appears, Kibworth Methodist Church continues to hold its regular weekly service at 10.30am each Sunday. If you are looking for a new church, or are just visiting the area, why not try us out? You will be made most welcome. But if you find that we are not quite right for you, we will be happy to discuss alternative places of worship in the area.

Ministers, Local Preachers and Worship Leaders

Although we have our own minister, Rev Andy Murphy, it is the practice of Methodist Churches to use a variety of Ministers, Local Preachers and Worship Leaders to lead their Services. This provides a range of service types for you to experience. During the summer, our services will be led by six Ministers, four Local Preachers and a Worship Leader. We celebrate Family Communion on three Sundays, participate in Songs of Praise (27 July), and learn about the Leprosy Mission (10 August). Many of those leading our services also lead those at our church in Market Harborough. So, if you are housebound, on holiday elsewhere, or would like to ‘try us out’ anonymously one Sunday, why not tune in to their 10.15am service which is broadcast live on YouTube.

Opening times

We are taking the opportunity to fully re-decorate our premises whilst the pre-school is closed. However, we are open as usual throughout the summer. In addition, you can still find members of the congregation helping out in The Well: a Café, Charity Shop and Foodbank in Kibworth High Street, operated by the local churches.

Finally, some thoughts to help you out:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Worry is like a Rocking Chair; it gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.

Love is patient, Love is kind.., Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13 4, 8)
