Local NGS Open Gardens

Brickfield House Market Harborough LE16 8XS opens on the 20 June, 12-4. A two-acre garden with lovely views overlooking the Welland Valley.
The ‘Secret Garden’ at Wigston Framework Knitters Museum, LE18 2BA, opens on the 21/ 22 June, 11- 5 pm. A Victorian walled garden with traditional cottage planting.
On Saturday 28 June (11- 5), and Sunday 29 June (11- 2), Oaktree House South Kilworth opens, LE17 6DU. A beautiful ⅔ acre full of colour, featuring both formal design and cottage planting, and over 300 containers.
Opening every Wednesday from 2-4.30 throughout July is the 4-acre garden at Stoke Albany House, LE16 8PT. This garden has beautiful herbaceous borders, and the owners are celebrating 40 years of opening their garden, raising over £22,000 for nursing and cancer charities.
Grouped Open Gardens
Four gardens open together at Wigston LE18 3LF on Saturday5/Sunday 6 July, 11-5 pm. They are four relatively small gardens all within a two-mile radius of each other, with something different to see in each garden, from traditional to a taste of the unusual, via wildflowers, and interesting artefacts.
Another group garden opening is at Willoughby Waterleys LE8 6UD on Sunday 6 July 11-5. Five gardens ranging from a 1½-acre nature reserve, a plant lover’s garden with themed coloured borders, vegetable gardens, and cottage style planting.
The ‘Secret Garden’ at Glenfield Hospital opens on Saturday 19 July, 10.30-3pm, LE3 9QP. This hidden gem of a garden is a one-acre sanctuary, and there will be multiple stalls and a plant sale.
In August, two gardens open for the first time in Glenfield, 2 Ilmington Close LE3 8BF 11-4 on Saturday 9/ Sunday 10 August. Tropical style planting with many exotic and unusual plants.
8 Saintbury Road, LE3 8EL, 11-4, also on Saturday 9/ Sunday 10 August, a medium-sized ‘town garden’ crammed full of colourful and textured planting.
