The Well – Easter 2025

The Well, Kibworth

Easter is one of the most important and widely-celebrated holidays in the Christian faith. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Beyond its religious significance, Easter also symbolises renewal, growth, and new beginnings. This is reflected in many of its traditions, such as egg decorating, which represents rebirth, and the arrival of spring, a season associated with blooming life and transformation.

Whether celebrated in church services, family gatherings, or community events, Easter is a time for reflection, gratitude, and joy, honouring a message of hope that resonates across faiths and cultures.

Whatever your plans, we hope you have an enjoyable time.

VE Day

On 8 May 1945, Nazi Germany officially surrendered to the Allied forces. This brought an end to nearly six years of war in Europe.

It was a moment of great relief and celebration across Allied nations. People took to the streets to mark the victory and to honour those who had fought and died. While the war in the Pacific continued until August, VE Day remains a key moment of remembrance and gratitude for peace and freedom in Europe.

The Well is planning a small ‘invitation only’ event to celebrate the 80th anniversary. This will, of course, involve tea and cake!

So, if you are a veteran of the armed forces, you are invited to join us. The exact timings are to be confirmed, but if you would like to come along, please get in touch to register your interest by contacting our Operations Manager, Andy, by calling on 0116 279 0148 or emailing him at admin@thewellkibworth.org

There are other events being planned for the day which will be publicised online closer to the date.  The parish council will be raising a VE Day flag on the roundabout as part of the celebrations
