Centennial Swing: Golfer Celebrates 100th Birthday

At 100 years young, Bob Loughran still enjoys practicing on the driving range and a few holes of golf with his friend Frank. A member of KGC since 2012, known for his easy swing and even easier charm, Bob is the oldest active member of the club, still enjoying six holes usually twice a week, weather permitting.

Bob also regularly attends the fitness classes on a Monday morning instructed by resident Professional Mike Bent, whose aim is to keep the senior members fit and able to continue playing. Clearly the classes are working!

Surrounded by family, friends, and fellow golfers, Bob celebrated his 100th birthday by enjoying Sunday Lunch at the club —with cake and candles and a card from the King and Queen!

Club Chairman, Neil Driver says, “Bob is an inspiration to every single one of us, he’s always got time for a chat and a quiet bit of wisdom.

Happy Birthday Bob from everyone at KGC!
