KALS Annual Exhibition 2024
The Kibworth Art Lovers Society held its annual exhibition at the Kibworth Community Hub. Held on the first weekend of June, we were delighted with the public response. After the great team effort of gathering in the entries, receiving the paintings, setting up the screens and hanging the art works to the best advantage, a footfall of over 200 visitors from the village and farther afield was our reward.
On display were a wide variety of works, by talented local artists. In watercolour, oils, acrylics, pastels, ink and pencil, covering themes from flowers to landscapes and urban scenes. We were grateful for the many positive comments made by our steady flow of visitors throughout the weekend. And the public vote for favourite work went to Pat Porteous’s ‘Poppy Time’, a beautiful painting incorporating delicately stitched fabrics.
The next meeting of the Kibworth Art Lovers at the KCH lounge will be a pastels demonstration by professional artist, Andrea Naylor. Visitors are warmly welcome. The meeting starts at 7pm on 25 June. Paintings by Colin Spiers in June, Nan Whiteway in July and Mary Parker in August will be on display at the Kibworth branch of the MHBS.
