Ne’er cast a clout till May be out…

Do we dare to hope that summer is finally starting to peek at us from around the corner?   The month started with a rare sunny bank holiday weekend, when thoughts probably turned to gardening and barbeques – lovely!

Thank you to the Market Harborough Building Society

At the end of April, we were kindly invited by the Market Harborough Building Society to the opening of their impressive new head office at The Point Business Park in the town.  The Society are major donors to The Well. They support us with grants to carry out improvements and operate our food bank.    They are making a space in their new office available for use by community groups – if your group is interested in using the space, contact them directly to find out more: www.mhbs.co.uk

Our drop in tech support sessions

Would you like some help to get the most out of using your smartphone, tablet or laptop?  In partnership with Platform Housing and your Local Area Coordination service, there will be two FREE drop-in advice sessions in our cafe space on Monday 20 May and Monday 17 June. You can get help with things like using the internet, email and search engines, onliunnamed.jpgne shopping, using social media, job searching and CV prep and registering on the NHS app to order repeat prescriptions. The sessions run from 1:30pm until 3:00pm, no appointment necessary, just pop in. There will be free refreshments on offer too.

Our other advice sessions

Don’t forget, there’s lots of other regular advice sessions held at The Well.  There’s a drop-in most Thursdays held by one of our partners, offering advice and support on a whole range of issues such as mental health, debt and budgeting, housing, wellbeing and welfare benefits.  Turn to the ‘Noticeboard’ section in this edition to find out the dates of all the upcoming sessions.  There is no need to make an appointment – simply pop into our cafe during the times shown to speak to a worker.  If you want to know more about the drop-in sessions, please get in touch with us and we’ll be able to give you further information.
