Kibworth Library What’s On…

As we are 8 years old this May...

The keys to Kibworth Library were handed over to us by Leicestershire County Council eight years ago this May. Our twin role was to build a team of well-trained volunteers to man the library, along with building some income streams.

And what a lot of imaginative development the talented volunteer and trustee teams have brought to those tasks!

When Beauchamp Parish Council’s useful support at the outset gave way to the formation of a registered charity, the basic functional space we had inherited was morphing into the bright and lively place that it is today.

A future move…

The next big development in the pipeline now is our planned move to a new purpose-built extension on the side of the Grammar School Hall, where the library will join forces with the rest of Kibworth Community Hub.

Illustrated Nature talks & tea…

Meantime for summer 2024 – tickets are selling fast for an illustrated talk by David Scott on Thursday 25 April. David writes the Kibworth & DistrictChronicle’s Nature Notes column, and he plans to fascinate us with facts on the distribution and migration of ‘British’ birds.

His talk will be followed by one of our excellent home-made teas.

Keep your home warm – with advice – (book your place!)

Then on Thursday 9 May at 2pm we have a’ Warm Homes’ talk provided by the County Council, packed full of advice and support for local residents. Free, but to help us, please try to pop into the library or phone (0116 305 3612) to book your place.

Making Music…

‘Make Music Day’ falls worldwide on the longest day, Friday 21 June, when we are delighted to be working once again in the library with both Kibworth schools plus musical slots for toddlers and for older adults.

Check our website for information at www.kibworthcommunitylibrary.org.uk or follow us on Facebook for up-to-date information.
