Kibworth Bowling Club – Mar ’24

Kibworth Bowling Club members have enjoyed indoor carpet bowls over the winter months. Roll-ups on Monday afternoons and evenings have been well attended social occasions, and several club competitions have taken place.

Six teams competed this year for the Morrison’s Cup. The winners were ‘The Outlaws’ – Geoff Lidbetter (Captain), Chris Graves, Doug Lander, Karen and Rob Tidd (pictured below). Runners up were ‘The Foxes’ (Neil Humphrey, Barry Johnson, Helen Nourish, Sharon and Brian Sanderson).

We currently have eight pairs battling it out for the Hollingsworth Trophy, and 24 members will be playing in the Rose Garden Trophy singles competition which will be a whole day event on 6 April.

We are really looking forward to opening our outdoor green for the summer season on Monday 8 April from 5.30pm, weather permitting. New members are always very welcome – come and have a go! All equipment is provided, and free tuition is available from our Bowls England Coaches. There is plenty of parking on-site and our licensed bar will be open.

We have five months of fixtures planned. These include the Market Harborough League (Monday evenings), the South Leicestershire Triples League (Tuesday evenings), Ladies League (Friday afternoons), Ladies Friendlies on Wednesday afternoons and Mixed Friendly matches on Thursday and Saturday Afternoons, against local clubs. We also have 13 internal club competitions for members to enter. It looks like being a very busy and enjoyable summer!
