Good News
Good news. At the recent Area Contest the ‘Knight and his Princess’ were kind to us and we achieved a creditable fourth place in a field of sixteen bands. This keeps us firmly in the First Section.
Currently the senior band has five players under the age of 18, all graduates of the Youth Band. All are doing well and two are also members of the National Youth Brass Band. Particular mention must be made of Ciaran, who has recently been promoted to principal cornet – equivalent to the leader of the orchestra – a role in which he excelled at the contest.
Joint Concert soon
Plans are afoot for a joint concert with the Senior and Youth Bands at St Wilfrid’s Church later in the year. More details will follow next month.
