Save Our Choir

Adele Rogers, our brilliant Musical Director, has decided to step down after seven successful and amazing years leading the Foxton Community Choir. But, the Choir must go on, as it’s such an integral and important part of our Village. So, we need a Musical Director to replace her.

Perhaps you can help? Maybe you were involved with a choir in the past? Or you know someone who used to conduct and take rehearsals and may be looking for a very friendly and especially keen bunch of singers who want to continue enjoying music and hopefully entertaining our audiences?

As a bit of background, we are a non-auditioning choir of 25 mixed members. Some of us can read music but most are enthusiastic amateurs who don’t. We sing varied material from musicals, folk songs, hymns, opera and film mostly in three parts and occasionally in four. We rehearse every Thursday evening in Foxton Church from September, ending in June with a social. But, we’d be willing to change rehearsal night.

Our concerts have always been a huge success and this year was no exception as we celebrated the Platinum Jubilee with great style, raising £570 towards Foxton Church renovation fund. We’re now hoping to start rehearsals for the Christmas Carol Service, so please get in touch with Gill Wollerton 07748 131512 if you think you can help in any way to ‘Save our Choir.’
