Summer Reading Challenge

It’s that time of year again!

The Summer Reading Challenge begins on Saturday 9 July. This year’s theme is ‘Gadgeteers’. Children will be able to join six fictional Gadgeteers. The characters are magically brought to life by children’s writer and illustrator Julian Beresford.

The Gadgeteers use their curiosity and wonder to understand the science behind a whole range of interests, from fashion and technology to cooking and music. Science is all around us, so get your children to join in to discover the amazing innovations behind the everyday things they love. It’s for children aged four to 11 and keeps them reading throughout the summer.

The Reading Agency have partnered with the Science Museum Group for this very special science-themed challenge inspiring children to use their imagination and creativity.

Come into the library any time from 9 July through the summer to sign them up. It runs until Sunday 11 September.

Book Sale, Sat 2nd July

Don’t miss our Book Sale on Saturday 2 July, just in time to get those holiday reads in. As well as our usual fantastic fiction there will be extra sections on historical fiction, young adult and travel (of course).
