Kibworth Bowling Club – April ’22

Kibworth Bowling Club

The Club’s indoor carpet bowls’ season has ended with two enjoyable competitions taking place. Eight pairs competed for the Burbery/Hollingsworth Trophy. There were some exciting matches with very close scores. The well deserved winners were Steve Greenwood and Mick Flood (see photo) with runners-up Les Bent and Doug Lander.

Thirty members battled for the Rose Garden Trophy on 2 April in a full-day event which included a delicious lunch. Rob Tidd was the winner following a nail-biting final with Steve Greenwood.

The club is grateful to have been sponsored this year by Creative World of Crafts Ltd which is based at Kibworth Business Park. Their very kind donation has enabled us to install new entrance gates and fencing to the car park area.

The outdoor green, with six rinks, is opening on 11 April. Informal, ‘roll-up’ sessions take place every Monday evening from 6-8 pm with free equipment and coaching. Come and try your hand! Open days will take place on Sunday 15 May and Sunday 29 May, from 10.30-3.00. We look forward to welcoming new members to the club! It’s a great way to make new friends.

Our fixtures start on Saturday 16 April, with a match against Goodwood at home. Spectators are very welcome. See our website for a full list of the season’s fixtures at www.kibworthbowlingclub.co.uk

A county match will be played at the club on Monday 23 May starting at 1pm, when Leicestershire will play Middlesex. Come and see some top-class bowling!
