Walking in the Derbyshire Peak District & Beyond
Why not join the happy bunch of people that make up the Oadby Hillwalking Club on one of our many walks? A great way to keep fit, see beautiful countryside and make new friends. Our Club attracts all ages, whether studying, working or retired.
We provide sociable guided walks to suit every level of fitness and experience.
Leaving on the first Sunday of the month, by coach from Oadby car park, we head to Derbyshire Peak District. Sometimes we head off to Staffordshire, the Cotswold and the Chilterns. Occasionally we go further afield to the Lake District or Snowdonia.
We have as much as five walks of 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 miles long. Each is led by a skilled walk lead. The coach dropping each group off at key locations so that the walk always ends in a pub! The coach picks us up again at around 5pm for the trip back to Oadby. We also hold local mid-month walks.
We cover the cost of the coach journey by charging members and guest £12 and £15 respectively. Guest can come along to three walks before deciding whether the group is one that they want to join. An annual membership fee of £15 (pro-rata) is then payable.
