Isabel Cullum

I was saddened to learn of the death of Isabel Cullum who, I must admit, was responsible for encouraging me to write articles for the Chronicle.

We often compared notes to ensure we were not duplicating items that were intended for the paper.

I will miss her local knowledge and her sincere friendship, which we shared over the years.

I will always be grateful for her support and inspiration that guided me to not only produce features for the Chronicle but also other publications further afield, such as the Leicester Mercury and Harborough Mail.

Her talent and enthusiasm to support and supply historical material to the likes of the Chronicle will be sorely missed.
