Local home care company hits the airwaves

Home Instead Senior Care, Market Harborough, have partnered with local radio station Harborough FM 102.3, to provide weekly ‘Friendship Lunch Hours’ on the station, providing advice, awareness and nostalgic entertainment for local seniors.

Home Instead provides home care services throughout Harborough in Leicestershire, with services ranging from home help and companionship, to specialist dementia and post-operation care. They are experts on ageing and its related issues and problems.

The ‘Friendship Lunch Hours’ will offer elderly people in the local area advice and information which they may otherwise have gained from social events cancelled in the pandemic. The sessions will take place every other Wednesday 1pm-3pm on the lunchtime show on Harborough FM.

The ‘Lunch Hour’ will also offer memory track requests, playing older songs to help those living with memory loss remember their younger years. Many dementia-friendly activity groups have been cancelled throughout the lockdown; playing old songs offers a simple, interactive activity for those living with dementia to participate in from the comfort of their own homes.
