Kibworth Rambling Group

Walking is an excellent form of exercise. As ramblers we have been pleased to see good numbers of socially distanced walkers using the network of local footpaths. This is great to see given the lockdown restrictions. If you are new to regular walking and have enjoyed seeing more of our local countryside you might consider joining a rambling group such as ours once Covid-19 is under control and things are back to ‘normal’.

Lockdown Hiatus

Unfortunately the Kibworth Rambling Group has had to discontinue our normal group activities for more than six months. With the ‘rule of six’ we organised small group walks between the start of October and the new lockdown. We had four groups of six or fewer members walking most weeks.

Before that, at the end of September, some members were able to undertake a long-planned walking break in East Sussex. This was at Abingworth, which is a Holiday Fellowship Hotels (HF) on the edge of the South Downs. HF specialises in walking holidays and went to great lengths to make our stay both safe and enjoyable. For many of our group this was our first hill walking for months. We were very grateful that the weather was kind and the underfoot conditions were good.

Once again Lockdown means that Group activities are back on hold. We hope that we will be able to walk together again after lockdown.
